About

Hola – I’m Stacey Tipton Reiman, elearning developer and work at home mom in Anchorage, Alaska. I’ve found that my regular family type blog over at my main website these days, HomeschoolSpanishOnline.com –  doesn’t really work for the majority of posts I feel like writing! Sure recipes, childcare, Spanish, etc are still huge issues for me, but I find that coding issues are the ones that beg to be written into blog posts. This blog is really meant to be a snippet repository, as much for myself as for others. I want to get my code more ORGANIZED!

Especially as I begin diving into mobile development, which is the biggest challenge on my plate right now.

I use a ton of DOS, which may seem weird to people who have never used it. I find that I can do almost anything with DOS when it comes to lightening fast content creation. I use it to generate XML from simple wordlists, TTS scripts, AS3 class files, SWFs, folders, and more. For anything from string replacements in bulk to capitalizing words or even just the first letter in a word – my DOS scripts get it done fast and flawlessly.

But of course DOS is just the tool I use to get to other languages, which right now are mainly AS3 and XML. This is about to change, as I’m not sure where mobile development will take me. You see I’m a bit obsessed with my iPad, which is a definite game changer. And I hope and pray that the new tools from Adobe can create apps that will rock the iPad, but I’m not so sure. If not it looks like Xcode will be next…. agghh – sure hope not!

I also follow a bunch of Adobe guys online, so I’ll use this blog to grab some posts from them from time to time as well. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you find some of my code solutions useful.
